Subject and Predicate Definition and Exercise
Subject:
It tells about the person or thing who or what does the action.
It answers the questions like who or what.
Examples:
The cat sat on the mat.
She sells seashells at the seashore.
Predicate:
It tells about the activities done by the subject.
Examples:
The cat sat on the mat.
She sells seashells at the seashore.
Points to remember:
Not all sentence begins with the subject.
Examples:
Here comes the bus.
There is my book.
In most of the imperative sentences, the subject is understandable.
Examples:
Please come. (here the subject you is understandable)
Help me with this. (here the subject you is understandable)
