John Bunyan was an English writer and preacher. He was a Puritan who spent many years in prison for preaching without government permission. During his time in jail, he wrote The Pilgrim’s Progress (1678), one of the most famous Christian allegories ever written.

The Pilgrim’s Progress is an allegory (a story with a symbolic meaning). It describes a man’s journey from sin to salvation. The main character is named Christian, and he travels from his hometown, called the “City of Destruction,” to the “Celestial City” (Heaven).

🔸 Chapter 1: The Beginning of the Journey

Christian walks through the dark Valley of the Shadow of Death. He faces fear, temptation, and evil thoughts but survives by trusting God.
